Marian Price is just one of several Irish people still interned in British Occupied Ireland for almost 18 months, during which time neither Marian or her lawyers have been allowed to see any of Britain's ‘alleged’ evidence against her.
• She has been kept in solitary confinement in a ‘male’ high security prison
• She is effectively interned without a trial, sentence, or release date.
• She has not been given any timescale for any investigation.
• She has not been allowed to see the evidence that the state claims to have
• Her release has been ordered on two occasions by judges. However, on both occasions the British Vice royal has overruled those decisions.
• The Vice royal claims they ‘revoked Marian’s license, ’despite Marian never being released on license. She was given a Royal Pardon.
• Marian’s Royal Pardon has ‘gone missing’ from the home office (the only time in history). The British Vice royal has taken the view that unless a paper copy can be located – it must be assumed that she does not have one. It is generally agreed that MI5 shredded her majesty's pardon.
• Despite no ‘license’ existing for her release from prison in 1980, it is the non-existent licence that is being used to keep her in prison.
• She can only be released by Theresa Villiers the current Vice royal responsible for Marian's internment.
The second last time Marian appeared in court, the charges against her were thrown out of court for lack of evidence by a Judge. Now the very same charges have been re-instated against Marian again in front of the very same Judge!
In secret courts, being introduced secretly, by the back door, through legislation in the House of Lords, MI5 the British secret service, push for secret trials to take place, with secret evidence by secret witnesses, that not even the defendant's lawyers are allowed to know or see. The length of sentence is secret with it all kept secret, under penalty of a long jail sentence, of their Official Secret's Act.
Despite protests of defence lawyers, the secret courts will operate, with virtually no rules of evidence, no discovery rules, no rules of decision and no rules regarding precedent. Not only will traditional law be in short supply, so too, will any sense, as to what interpretive practices would be followed by the 'judges' or what precedent values will exist.
In the constant existential crises, of the nonsensical British scum state, established on the basis of a British mentored sectarian headcount, with rules and ongoing lawlessness of farcical law, its obvious injustice, commands no respect from informed Irish citizens, with the exception of Her majesty's cultivated bigoted, sectarian, neo-colonial, commoners.
With indefinite internment without a fair trial, without formal charges, where counsel is uniformed, where an individual cannot have their day in open court, events such as the miscarriages of justice like the Guildford 4 and the Birmingham 6 will become the secret norm. Internees without trial are being secretly judged, by observers with a vested financial and political interest to infer guilt by often bigoted, prejudiced, sectarian, racist, blackmailed, intimidated bureaucrats of colonial perceptions.
The dehumanization of internees such as Marian Price, through the infliction of pain and torture, not only damages her body and mind, it is as Elaine Scarry wrote, world-destroying, "It is the intense pain that destroys a person‘s self and world, a destruction experienced spatially as either the contraction of the universe down to the immediate vicinity of the body or as the body swelling to fill the entire universe. Intense pain is also language destroying; as the content of one‘s world disintegrates, so the content of one‘s language disintegrates; as the self disintegrates, so that which would express and project the self is robbed of its source and its subject. Thus, physical erasure also eliminates the intelligible voice, reducing human speech to the primordial expression of pain, a state anterior to language."
In addition to these erasures of her body, mind and self, British torture achieves a third form of physical erasure by the very fact
of the political prisoners‘ torture, requiring concealment. The retreat of torture from respectability by European standards, means that the British must perform their brutality in hiding, primarily with censorship. However they also conceal their involvement in rendition, as they hide their activity in subcontracted assassinations, with more curtains over their already, shrouded victim's bodies such as several human rights lawyers liquidated in British Occupied Ireland

Irish political prisoners pushed to the the edge of annihilation of their identity, have a long track record of participating in direct forms of resistance in many forms, including dirt strikes and hunger strikes, as a form of prisoner resistance, along with lawyer rights-based litigation and the hunger strikes, sharing an understanding of the relationship between rights, violence, and humanity.
While sometimes the resistance of lawyers and of prisoners may not be enough to win the prisoners‘ freedom as in the instance of dozens of Irish political prisoners who have died on hunger strike, it is still essential when British state violence is so extreme, as to attempt to extinguish our humanity and carry out this act of war on a defenceless civilian population that we explore every peaceful mode of resistance, besides fighting fire with fire. We have a moral obligation to consider all other alternatives first, that we fight fire with water and deny the British, with their barbaric acts of war on ordinary people, any basis for their inhumanity with their terrorist narrative.
Ordinary people too, who are genuinely interested in real peace in Ireland, have a responsibility to work for justice in Ireland, which is the only basis for a real lasting peace. Careerist politicians making millions off the backs of the long suffering Irish people make superficial careerist calls for peace, knowing full well is is hypocritical nonsense in an island of a divided Ireland, in more senses than one, planted firmly in social and political injustice of the extreme.
There is rally today, Saturday the 3rd of November in Dublin, starting at the Garden of Remembrance at 2.00 p.m, which goes to the historic GPO. That is a good start for anyone genuinely interested interested in Peace in Ireland and remove the basis of political violence. It would do well for those politicians engaged in state violence and acts of war against the Irish people of no property, to open their minds to this suggestion, rather than mouth vacuous, hypocritical condemnations for strictly political profit.

A political prisoner of conscience and a human rights activist, who has campaigned for other political prisoners in British Occupied Ireland, Marian has had no trial, no sentence, no release date, not even a time when a Parole Commission will look at her case. She will only be released by order of a British Secretary of State Owen Paterson, an unelected Englishman or the Queen's autocrat in British Occupied Ireland.
After the so called power sharing agreement to settle the troubles in Ireland, there is no evidence of it, in this instance of the return of internment without trial, which was a major contributory factor in the first instance. Internment without trial is concrete evidence that the so called peace process has failed from an administrative and human rights perspective with what is essentially military law ruling a sectarian scum state. Marian Price was arrested under Occupied Ireland's military laws and brought before a Diplock or Kangaroo Court without a jury or due process.
Twice, a judge with the precise same intelligence reports as the English Secretary of State ordered she be released on bail immediately as she was no threat to the public. The 58 year old Marian has publicly stated her days as a militant activist are long gone but she cannot condemn young people who fight to remove the British criminals from Occupied Ireland. However each and every time the Queen's unelected Englishman has overruled the judge and ordered Marian Price be interned without trial. His excuse was that he was revoking her parole but Marian was not on parole because she received a royal pardon or the "Royal Prerogative of Mercy" when she was freed in 1980. She was then at death's door from a hunger strike. She was force-fed more than 400 times on a hunger strike.
This unelected English autocrat in Occupied Ireland now says the much publicized pardon which is common knowledge "cannot be located," that it either has been lost or shredded. Marian's lawyer Peter Corrigan told a public meeting that it is the only time in the history of Royal Prerogatives of Mercy that a pardon has been mislaid.
Monsignor Raymond Murray a veteran human rights campaigner and spiritual chaplain, said, "You can draw your own conclusions." Marian has been in solitary confinement for more than 300 days. The UN Spokesperson on Torture has said solitary confinement for more than 15 days is torture. Marian is locked in her cell 21 hours a day with a camera. She has no privacy because prison staff constantly go in and out of her cell. Male prison guards shine a light in her face at night so she can't sleep.
Marian says she feels like she is "in a zoo." Her husband, Jerry McGlinchey, says that he is "very, very worried" about her health. She has never recovered from her previous force-feeding, she suffers from such severe arthritis that she can't open her hand. He believes her health will get worse while she is in solitary confinement.
The Irish civil rights leader Bernadette Devlin McAliskey has told a meeting in Belfast, "From the government's point of view it is a clear message that no dissent will be tolerated. You challenge the status quo at your peril." This internment without trial coupled with British sponsored or mentored murder of Human rights lawyers in occupied Ireland, along with blanket censorship, political paramilitary policing, prisoner torture has made post process Occupied Ireland a brutal military state for Irish people in their own land.
Marian Price may be a political prisoner of conscience in a British hell hole in Occupied Ireland for the rest of her life without the help of people who care. She is not the only one there are many more political prisoners of conscience in Ireland who were brave enough to speak out against British brutality and occupation.

Owen Paterson an un-elected English Secretary of State for Occupied Ireland, has sent the traditional republican Marian Price to jail because, he says, she breached the terms of the licence on which she had been released in 1980 from a life sentence, prior to the so called power sharing peace process.
Marian Price's lawyers insist that she had been freed by Royal pardon, not on licence, and that Paterson doesn't have the authority to overrule a Queen's pardon. They have demanded production of the document, so that its terms can be established. Paterson says that the only copy has been lost or shredded.
"There are many people - by no means all of them sympathetic to Price's politics - who are quite prepared to disbelieve this.
Others will find it impossible to believe that a Secretary of State could supply incorrect and misleading information in a fraught and sensitive case. But, oh yes, he could.
Speaking last week of Mr Justice Girvan's handling of the matter, (Patersons's predecessor} Hain scoffed that "It wouldn't have happened anywhere else in the UK".
Right enough. If it had happened anywhere else, Hain would have been run out of public life.

In olden days, a politician knocking a judge was something shocking. Now, heaven knows, anything goes. In Northern Ireland, anyway.
Here, former Secretary of State Peter Hain gets to tell a judge who delivered a verdict he disapproved of that he's "off his rocker", while current incumbent, Owen Paterson, orders someone into prison because he reckons we'd all be better off with her out of the way. At least that's how it seems.
Hain, in his recent autobiography, suggested that a High Court judge, Mr Justice Girvan, was not the full shilling when he ruled, back in 2006, that the appointment of Bertha McDougall as interim Victims' Commissioner had been made for an "improper political purpose"...
The head of the civil service, Nigel Hamilton, submitted an affidavit, which he testified had been seen and approved by Hain, admitting that there had been political input into the process and that it had been the DUP which had put forward Mrs McDougall's name. In December 2006, Attorney General Lord Goldsmith announced the appointment of civil servant Peter Scott to conduct the inquiry. Scott's inquiry was held in secret.
It found that while the process had been entirely improper, Hain couldn't be held personally responsible. Scott didn't reject any of the rulings, or remarks, of Mr Justice Girvan.
Six years later, Hain's successor, Owen Paterson, has sent the traditional republican Marian Price back to jail because, he says, she breached the terms of the licence on which she had been released in 1980 from a life sentence for the March 1973 Provisional IRA bombing of London.
Price's lawyers insist that she had been freed by Royal pardon, not on licence, and that Paterson doesn't have the authority to overrule a pardon. They have demanded production of the document, so that its terms can be established. Paterson says that the only copy has been lost or shredded.
There are many people - by no means all of them sympathetic to Price's politics - who are quite prepared to disbelieve this.
Others will find it impossible to believe that a Secretary of State could supply incorrect and misleading information in a fraught and sensitive case. But, oh yes, he could.
Speaking last week of Mr Justice Girvan's handling of the matter, Hain scoffed that "It wouldn't have happened anywhere else in the UK".
Right enough. If it had happened anywhere else, Hain would have been run out of public life.
But this is wild and wacky Northern Ireland, where normal rules don't apply, where due process is optional and, at the whim of a politician, where anything goes.

For several years the BBC World Service had a community of many thousands of football fans, who paid an annual compulsory license fee and who chatted among themselves about their football. To these fans it is called the beautiful game, a community game, an international game, where people compete, banter, use colourful language to celebrate a peaceful rivalry, played out all over the world and once every four years in the World Cup.Most of these fans chatted long and hard in the tradition of their colourul working class language of their clubs, with a passion and emotion, that was their heritage of close to a hundred and fifty years. Their loves, hates and angst played out in a healthy harmless outlet or rant form. This tradition stemmed from hundreds of years of factory workers, mine workers etc., escaping the hard monotonous grind of their weekly work life, in a football escape every weekend, where they paid their hard earned cash to support THEIR local club in a celebration of football passion, that was a healthy release in often really difficult lives.These fans paid every year a hefty license, to finance the British Broadcasting Corporation, which is compulsory if they own a TV. This is obligatory and the alternative is a prison sentence, whether they watch the BBC or not.In 2006 against the wishes of the overwhelming majority of these fans, the BBC disbanded this community of BBC 606 chatters to replace it instead, with a platform of paid football pundits, professional football spin doctors, with the now privatized football industry, making fortunes in a new sanitized commercial game, alien and plastic, to the ordinary people who financed, built and supported these clubs. Despite considerable protest and pleadings the community of club members and chatters was destroyed by the BBC with complete disregard to these football fans wishes. The traditional BBC 606 chat format, enabled spontanious, emotional chat, where foorball relationships developed, where communities engaged with its members values, where spelling or state education was secondary to passionate football and the characters of spirit that evolved as a result.At this time, the BBC censored up to half the contributions made to its 606 foorball boards and continues to carry out this censorhip irrespective of its license paying clients wishes, who pay their salaries. Meanwhile the international corporate interests started to colonize the game with its huge worldwide advertizing revenues, alongside a new sanitized format of what was traditionally a working class game.This is a record of ongoing satirical contributions censored with articles protesting the censorship by the BBC World Service. Meanwhile the BBC broadcasts its corporate culture into almost every working class community and country in the world. Yet it basically censors most of the important feedback and protest from these communities and countries without any respect for their values. Yes they will tell you of a process of complaint but it absolutely superficial and simply a more bureaucratic form of censorship.

In olden days, a politician knocking a judge was something shocking. Now, heaven knows, anything goes. In Northern Ireland, anyway.
Here, former Secretary of State Peter Hain gets to tell a judge who delivered a verdict he disapproved of that he's "off his rocker", while current incumbent, Owen Paterson, orders someone into prison because he reckons we'd all be better off with her out of the way. At least that's how it seems.
Hain, in his recent autobiography, suggested that a High Court judge, Mr Justice Girvan, was not the full shilling when he ruled, back in 2006, that the appointment of Bertha McDougall as interim Victims' Commissioner had been made for an "improper political purpose"...

Dominic Behan (22 October 1928 - 3 August 1989; Irish: Doiminic Ó Beacháin) was an Irish songwriter, short story writer, novelist and playwright who wrote in both Irish and English. He was also a committed socialist andIrish Republican. Born into a literary family, Dominic Behan was one of the most influential Irish songwriters of the 20th century.

Behan was born in inner-city Dublin into an educated working class family. His father, Stephen Behan, fought for the Irish Republican Army (IRA) in the Anglo-Irish War. Dominic was the brother of Brendan Behan. His mother, Kathleen, a collector of songs and stories, took the boys on literary tours of the city. Behan's maternal uncle,Peadar Kearney, wrote "A Soldier's Song", the song the Irish National Anthem was based on. Another brother,Brian was also a playwright and writer.
At the age of thirteen, Dominic left school to follow in his father's footsteps in the housepainting business. The family house in which Behan lived was the property of Christine English, Dominic's grandmother, who owned several properties in the city. His father Stephen, was a member of the IRA and had been one of Michael Collins' "Twelve Apostles", who were responsible for the deaths of several officers from the British Army during the Irish War of Independence. He was banned from a professional future career for refusing to swear allegiance to the British Crown after the Irish civil war.

In 1937, the family moved to a new local authority housing scheme in Crumlin. Here, Behan became a member of Fianna Éireann, the youth organization of the IRA and published his first poems and prose in the organization's magazine Fianna: the Voice of Young Ireland. In 1952, Behan was arrested in Dublin for leading a civil disobedience campaign in protest against the ruling government's failure to tackle unemployment and other critical economic issues. Behan was subsequently jailed for his part in other campaigns protesting the government's treatment of the working class in Ireland.

On release from jail, Dominic Behan married Josephine Quinn, the daughter of John Quinn, a cabinet maker from Glasgow. The Quinns were active in the Communist Party and other left-wing organisations in Glasgow. They emigrated to England where Behan had been working for the BBC, writing radio scripts, mainly for theThird Programme. His play Posterity Be Damned, produced in the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin, in 1959, dealt with republican activity after the Civil War of 1922–23. An autobiographical novel Teems of Times (1961) was received to critical acclaim, particularly by Kenneth Tynan, and dramatized on television in 1977 by RTÉ. His autobiography, Tell Dublin I Miss Her, was also published in 1961. A biography of his brother, Brendan Behan, appeared in 1965, My Brother Brendan.
During the 1960s and 1970s Behan wrote a number of television plays for British television in showcases such as Play for Today and Armchair Theatre. One of these plays, The Folk Singer (1972), was restructured for the theatre and presented during the height of the Troubles at Belfast's Lyric Theatre starring a young Ken Stott.
Arguably, it was as a songwriter that Behan excelled. He was a prolific composer and had more than 450 songs published during his lifetime. His songs were very popular in Ireland and also among the Irish living in England, especially "The Patriot Game", "McAlpine's Fusiliers", "Avondale", and "Liverpool Lou". In 1958, he releasedThe Singing Streets: Childhood Memories of Ireland and Scotland on Folkways Records along with fellow folksinger Ewan MacColl.
Some of his songs have been translated into Norwegian. Liverpool Lou is known in the city of Bergen as Jenter fra Bergen. Surrounded by Water is also known in Bergen as Omgitt av fjeller. The Norwegian translations were done by singer-songwriter Fred Ove Reksten, a friend of Behan, who gave permission for the Norwegian versions to be recorded by the folk group The Bergeners. Musicians Björn Alling and Conny Olsson from Linköping, Sweden are currently working on a translation of "Patriot Game" into their native tongue.
Contrary to rumours posted previously to this page, Behan did not at any time attend any seat of higher learning. He was a largely self educated man whose intellect was such that he numbered many respected thinkers among his friends including the likes of Hugh MacDiarmid the Scots poet with whom he lived for three years,Louis MacNeice who became for a time a writing partner - mostly for the BBC overseas program and H.A.L. Craig the screen writer who produced the script for the film of Waterloo.

Dave Cousins wrote his song "Josephine, For Better Or For Worse" in honour of Josephine and Dominic Behan. This song has been recorded several times, the best known version is on the album "Dragonfly" byStrawbs in 1970.
In a well publicised interview, John Lennon dismissed the folk scene in his own country, England, yet praised Behan, from neighbouring Ireland, whom he said he liked. [1] On a recent Desert Island Discs, Yoko Onoselected Behan's "Liverpool Lou" as her husband had sung it to their son as a lullaby. [2]

Dominic died at home in Glasgow, aged 60, on 3 August 1989 of pancreatic cancer, shortly after the publication of his critically acclaimed novel The Public World of Parable Jones. He was survived by his widow and two sons, Fintan and Stephen. He was cremated, and his ashes were scattered at the Royal Canal, Dublin near his birthplace by May MacGiolla the wife of the Workers' Party of Ireland Dublin West TD Tomas MacGiolla. His oration was given by his longtime friend Seán Garland, General Secretary of the Workers' Partyof which Behan had been a staunch supporter for many years.
